2-day tour to Ijen and the fabulous forest of Javatan Benchuluk

When was the last time you dreamed of a trip that looked like a picturesque fairy tale? Imagine a world where giant trees with bizarre shapes stretch from roots to tops, covered with soft moss. And next to them, an emerald lake, like a mythical dragon, exhales clouds of toxic gas and sparkling blue flames.

Such a magical place exists - the breathtaking island of Java, which we invite you to explore on our two-day tour.
You will be immersed in the fantastic atmosphere of the Javatan Benchuluk forest, where winding paths will take you into a world reminiscent of the epic “The Lord of the Rings”
Watching the sunrise at Ijen Volcano will be one of the most impressive moments of your trip. This unique volcano hides a sulfur lake in its crater, and at night its shores are illuminated with a blue flame, like liquid lava. The gloomy trees entwining the rocky slopes seem like sea monsters.
DAY 1 - Transfer to Ijen Volcano
● Early in the morning around 8:00 am, a transport company driver will arrive at your hotel/villa. In a comfortable car, you will travel through the western part of the island to the ferry terminal at the port of Gilimanuk.
The journey to the port takes about 4 hours and passes through the most picturesque surroundings of Bali: beaches, rice fields and the western national park.
The ferry ride takes about 1 hour to the port of Banyuwangi in eastern Java. We will stop for lunch at a local restaurant in Ketapang village and continue our trip to the Ijen volcano area
● At 15:00 we will reach the first point of our route - the fabulous forest of Javatan Benchuluk. The forest is famous for its huge, intricately shaped tamarind trees, completely covered with thick green moss. You'll have about an hour to feel like a hobbit from The Lord of the Rings and take tons of amazing photos in this magical place.
● At 16:00 we will continue our journey. According to the new requirements for visiting the Ijen volcano, all tourists must have their blood pressure checked and obtain a medical permit. Therefore, on the way to the hotel there will be a short stop at the hospital. It won't take long and we will arrive at the hotel by 17:00. Here you will need to register - and you can relax before the ascent.

DAY 2 - Sunrise at Ijen Volcano – Jagir Falls – Banyuwangi
● At 00:30 - 1:00 at night we leave the hotel to the slope of the active Ijen volcano and find ourselves in an amazing natural world - this is one of the few areas in Java where giant ferns and amazingly shaped plants remain.
● Before the climb we will meet with a professional English-speaking guide who will give us masks - respirators and flashlights. The ascent will begin around 02:00 am. After about an hour and a half of climbing, we will reach the observation deck at the crater of the volcano.
● The crater contains the largest deposit of sulfur and is constantly being mined. Miners climb up from the crater with 80-kilogram baskets on their shoulders. We get to watch them work hard on their way to the top.
● We will meet the dawn at an altitude of 2386 meters above sea level. From here there is a breathtaking view of the ridge of volcanoes and green forests stretching to the horizon. Squat trees on the slopes, looking like fantastic sea inhabitants, and an acidic lake of indescribable emerald color surrounded by sulfur clouds. At around 6:00 am we will set off on the way back to the foot of the volcano.
● On the way to the hotel we will make a stop at another beautiful place - a cascade of 3 Jagir waterfalls. Locals call it Siblings Falls and Angels Falls because the water here is as clear as the bathhouse of the gods themselves. Here you can swim in the cool river flowing from the nearby mountains and take unforgettable photos under the powerful, refreshing streams.
● By 11:00 am we will return to the hotel, where we will have breakfast, pack our things and rest before heading back. Including the ferry crossing, the journey to Bali will take about 5 - 6 hours. The exact time of arrival at your hotel/villa depends on the distance of your hotel and traffic conditions.
